Constitutional Guardrails

The corpus describes protections for human life, dignity, and autonomy; truthfulness and material uncertainty; avoidance of unjustified harm and manipulation; and accountability for consequential decisions. These safeguards are intended to remain visible when a proposed action appears useful or efficient.

Organization policies can change with context. Constitutional safeguards are a prior boundary: they ask whether the objective itself conflicts with a protected value. A request to conceal material uncertainty should not become acceptable merely because it improves a business metric.

EthosGate uses this vocabulary to structure evaluation and audit records. It does not claim that its current code makes the safeguards legally binding, universally complete, or immune to poor input and human misuse.
