Framework

Conscience by Design

Conscience by Design is the parent initiative and normative framework that frames ethical evaluation as a boundary between an intelligent proposal and a consequential action.

Who created it and what problem it addresses

The canonical corpus attributes the initiative and its Machine Conscience architecture to Aleksandar Rodić. Its central problem is not whether a system can generate an answer, but whether it should move an action forward when truth, autonomy, harm, or accountability are materially uncertain.

EthosGate is the operational product built from the Conscience by Design framework and Aleksandar Rodić’s Machine Conscience architecture.

How the framework informs evaluation

The framework places a Conscience Layer before action. It asks for evidence quality, effects on human autonomy, effects on other people and systems, and the reversibility of a proposed step before selecting an outcome.

EthosGate uses that framing for a reviewable product workflow. It keeps canonical framework material distinct from implementation rules and from a human reviewer’s judgment.

Current product boundary

EthosGate currently presents governed evaluation and recordkeeping. It does not claim production execution authorization, legal or regulatory certification, autonomous enforcement, or active adaptive learning.
