This glossary gives concise, product-aligned definitions for the terms EthosGate uses when discussing governed AI action evaluation.

Core entities

Conscience by Design: the parent initiative and normative framework. Machine Conscience: Aleksandar Rodić’s architecture for ethical state evaluation. EthosGate: the operational product built from that framework and architecture. Conscience Layer: the supervisory boundary placed before action.

Core measures

Truth Integrity Score (TIS): evidence, consistency, uncertainty, and provenance. Human Autonomy Index (HAI): meaningful choice, dignity, non-coercion, alternatives, and override. Societal Resonance Quotient (SRQ): third-party impact, fairness, and long-term or systemic effects.

Decision vocabulary

ALLOW: acceptable within recorded context. MODIFY: change is required. QUESTION: material context is missing. ESCALATE: accountable human review is required. REFUSE: a proposal conflicts with a core safeguard. These terms are not production action commands.
